What Shoe Colors Do Women Absolutely Need?

Women have so many different choices available to them when it comes to style and color of shoes available. The reason is that shoes and women are an entirely different subject than men and shoes. A pair of shoes worn by a man is considered an extension of his outfit and is worn to compliment. With women, a pair of shoes is intended to accessorize an outfit. Shoes are chosen along with hand bags, belts and other accessories to give an over all affect. Many times, a stylish, well thought out ensemble of shoes, bag, belt and jewelry will create a conversation point with women or even envy!

Although there are millions of different colored shoes on the market for women, the most functional and popular color shoe that absolutely every woman should have in her wardrobe is black. Black is about the only color known to man that will match well and compliment any color scheme possible and is considered to be very dressy. Although black is not the only color shoe that a woman should have, it is absolutely necessary to own at least five pairs of black shoes! Yeah, I know you are thinking that is crazy but when you consider that you need open toe, closed toe, dressy, casual, and semi casual it doesn't take long to add up!

Another must have shoe color is white. Like black, white is a color that can be used with a wide variety of colors to enhance an outfit. White is generally difficult to keep clean and is easily scuffed or marked so it is not quite as popular as black. Never the less, it is absolutely necessary to have at least two pairs of white shoes as part of a complete wardrobe. If you work in the medical profession this figure may have to be multiplied quite a bit!

The colors and types of clothing that a woman has in her wardrobe will often dictate the colors of shoes needed. With that in mind, it is fairly obvious why many women need an entire wardrobe dedicated to their shoes. The colors a woman chooses for her wardrobe will have a lot to do with favorite colors and what is considered 'hot' this season and shoes are no exception.

If you were to ask any woman what color shoe was absolutely impossible to live without, I am positive the reply would be that every color shoe is needed!

Some Things To Consider When Buying Shoes

Children can be very hard on shoes and they tend to wear them out much more quickly than the rest of the population. As a parent it is our duty to constantly monitor our children's shoes and inspect them for uneven wear, stressed seams, holes in the soles, etc.

One sure sign that the child's shoes do not fit properly is bulging out from the sides and toes curving upwards. If you discover worn out toes or heels then you know you definitely need to buy new shoes.

We have assembled some tips to help you when shopping for shoes for your child; hopefully this will help you with your mission.

The first thing you need to do is always shop for shoes in the afternoon or evening because feet swell during the day and the shoes will fit differently in the afternoon than in the morning.

Always have your children's feet measured each time you buy shoes. The child's feet should be measured while standing and you should always have both feet measured since one foot will usually be larger than the other. Always buy shoes to accommodate the larger foot.

When fitting the shoe to your child leave approximately a half inch of clearance between the end of the shoe and the edge of your child's toes. At the same time do not buy shoes that are more than one size too large for your child. Buying shoes that are too big can cause your child's foot to slip within the shoe and make them trip. Also, be sure that the heel of the shoe rests comfortably around the back of the foot while at the same time, not too tight.

The shoes you are buying for the child should feel good and fit properly now. Don't buy the shoes with the thought that they will feel better once they get broken in.

You should buy shoes for children that have laces so that they can be adjusted and tightened properly. Also, buy children's shoes from breathable materials such as canvas to help alleviate odor and promote comfort.

You should buy shoes for children with flat bottoms and sturdy, flexible soles with a patterned grip to prevent slipping.

By following the guidelines above you will have a much more enjoyable experience shopping for your child.

How To Choose The Right Handbag

know women that have a handbag for every day of the week and then some, but regardless of whether you only want one or two, or if you are one of those that has to have them in all shapes, colors and sizes there are some basics to follow.

Many women will see something they think they are going to love; only to get it home and find out it really only goes with the outfit they were wearing when they bought it!
So it ends up sitting the closet collecting dust along with the collection of once worn shoes.

If you follow a few guidelines you can eliminate a lot of these issues.

You see someone wearing a bag that you just have to have or you find one on the internet and you can't wait to get it. STOP! The first thing you need to ask yourself is, "Is this going to look as cute on me?" Let's face it, just like with jeans and dresses there are some women that can look good carrying a brown paper bag. Also, is it really your style or are you wanting it just because everyone else has one? It needs to go with more than one outfit in your wardrobe, unlike all those extra shoes.

Are you going for the cute and sexy look or do you want a more conservative style? Having one bag for work and another for going out is perfectly acceptable especially when you may have some white collar job where you have to be reserved and your true personality needs a bag that screams, "Look at me!"

Another thing you want to keep in mind as I mentioned earlier is to consider your own body when choosing a handbag. You want to choose one that is flattering to you, if you are a little heavier you don't want a bag that you can barely get over your shoulder, cutting off the circulation in your arm, just because it is cute.

Next, think about what you are going to put into the bag. Is the bag you like up to the task? Will it hold everything you need it to hold? The key word is NEED! Also, be sure that it going to be comfortable.

What is it worth to you? This is a much bigger issue than just price. Are you going to use the bag on a regular basis? Is it worth what you had to sacrifice to buy it? If you are happy with the price and feel it was worth it to you then it was a good price.

Wrist Watches and the Digital Age

By : Harwood E Woodpecker
When I was growing up it was always a sign of intelligence to own a wrist watch. As kids we had no concept of time and we didn't need to worry about time. A wrist watch was something that we knew would govern our lives and was just something else to lose.
Then along came the digital watch.

I'm sure the digital watch must have been invented by some one who's kids always stayed out later that they should and were never on time for tea, but hey, they didn't own a wrist watch so they couldn't tell what time it was.

Digital watches changed all of this, digital watches were cool they did all sorts of cool digital things that posh quartz wrist watches didn't do.

The good people at Casio made the coolest digital watches, these had calculators on them, you could play games on them, albeit very basic number games and they played crazy digital tunes like "The Yellow Rose of Texas" in a horrible tinny pling plong fashion.

But all the kids loved Casio digital watches.

Soon manufacturers from all over Japan and China were coming up with digital watches that copied the Casio version but nothing could surpass it.

It just wasn't the same when on Christmas Day you eagerly opened your presents hoping for a Casio Digital watch only to discover that your parents had gone out and purchased you what they thought to be the latest thing in high-tech only to find out you were going to be just another has been at school as far as super cool digital watches were concerned.

Digital watches have come along way since my boyhood years, basically they are still the same time piece. They still tell the time on a grey screen with black digits but nowadays they have been more under engineered more than anything. The evolution of the digital watch has gone backwards.

This is mainly down to the fact that Casio decided that they'd taken the digital watch as far as they could and moved on to bigger and better things. As well as this the youth of the day moved on and realised that once you'd listened to an awfully tinny rendition of "The Yellow Rose of Texas" approximately one hundred times you didn't really care for the tune that much.

And then one day it dawned on the youth of the day that we were becoming slaves to time. We'd been lured into a world of digital slavery by our parents on the pre-tense of being cool and trendy by having a Casio digital watch that did all the things we could ever dream of, and plenty more.

But suddenly we knew what time tea was, we knew what time we had to be in by, the digital watch cut short our fun time and we had no excuse any longer.

So we all stopped wearing watches for a couple of years and dragged our childhood out for as long as we could, it wasn't cool to wear a smart quartz watch and any how they were too expensive to lose so our parents wouldn't buy us one.

So for approximately one year of my childhood I was suckered into an age of digital slavery by my parents, my peers and by Casio.

I've never owned a digital watch since but I do love my wrist watch, and yes, I am a slave to time.

And I've not heard the "Yellow Rose of Texas" for about 25 years.

Guidelines in Choosing the Best Leather

By : Daegan Smith
Leather is the material made up of the hides of an animal with the hair removed from it. This material may come in different finishes, colors or textures. Leather is known for its sensuous feel, strength and durability. It is resistant to destructive factors like climactic conditions and punctures. Leather retains its shape but can also be stretched and molded. Leather is used for bags, shoes, belts, clothing and furniture. You may be often confused when buying leather. Some may be priced higher and some may be graded.

There are 5 types of leather that are used for furniture like sofas. They are the Aniline, Full Aniline, Semi Aniline, the Full Grain Leather and the Top Grain Leather. It is better that you know these types to help you choose the best leather in the market.

The aniline leather is for those who truly love natural products. Materials made of the finest hides are fall under the aniline leather. Only the best hides are used to make this type of leather. This type of leather once placed in a room creates beauty as it gets used through the years.

The full aniline is for products that are made from some of the finest hides. Unlike Aniline, there are lesser choices of hides that are used. There is also a slight protective finish that gives the leather some serviceability.

The semi aniline is processed more. This is done dying the material in large drums. This process will make the leather look like Aniline or full aniline. They fall under the Grade B category of hides and belong to next 15% of the supply. They are also finished on top like the full Aniline. The tops of the hides are sprayed with pigments to make an even finish and cover some imperfections. Semi Aniline products are resistant to scratch and light and can be easily cleaned.

The full grain leather has the natural markings and the grain features of the animal from which the leather was taken. The best leather of these types should be clean, supple and clear. Some are also dyed with clear aniline dyes. When a full natural grain is retained, that is the time you can consider it as a full grain leather. The cheaper leather of these types has the natural grains that were sanded away and the surfaces were embossed with grains. They have thick coatings to cover the imperfections, that is why they are stiff and look and feel like plastic. If the full grain leather was made with hides, the treatment is lesser and the natural grains should be exposed.

In choosing the best leather of this type, you should feel the leather to test if it feels supple and natural to your touch. You are sure that you chose the best leather if it smells good, looks natural and soft to your touch. Make sure to make a thorough inspection of the leather before you choose it and it should have the full natural grain. Full grain leather should be of the best quality.

The top grain leather is considered as the economy leather in the market. Top grain leather is often misunderstood by a lot of customers because of its name. The quality of this leather is the contradiction of what the name implies. The leather of this material is not genuine, which explains why it is called "top grain". In this leather, the grains are only imitations stamped on the leather since the original grains were sanded away. If however, the genuine grains are still intact, the leather will be called "full grain" or "full top grain". The top grain leather is also considered the much weaker type of leather. Most of the top grain leathers are graded lower but can be afforded by many buyers.

When buying a leather of any type, be sure that you know the grade of the leather you are buying. The leatherís grade will be based on many factors like the size, the severity of the blemishes and the location where the raw materials were bought. Those leather that were made from mark free and perfect hides are expensive and rare. Lower-quality leather may cost 10 times cheaper than the high-grade one. You may still opt for the lower-quality piece and can still wear well and look great.

Which Ones Are the Best Golf Sunglasses?

By : Mike Herman
The best golf sunglasses take care of your style and protect your eys. Not only do they keep you looking good so you can impress everyone with your style.

The glasses also keep the sun's glare out of your eyes and protect them from its harmful rays and keep the dust and grime, blowing around you, out of your eyes.

The big-names on the market include Oakley, Bolle, NYX, Arnette, and RayBan. These glasses tend to have pretty hefty price tag, unless know where to look and some good online shopping. If your new to golf and just dropped a few grand on clubs and a country club membership, you may not want to spend much on sunglasses.

Inexpensive glasses can be just as advanced, comfortable, and good looking as the high priced versions. They can come with lightweight polycarbonate materials so they are barely noticeable once they're on your face. They can also come with special attachments to loop the glasses around your ears, so no matter how hard you hack at the ball, those glasses won't fall off.

More importantly for your eyes' health, the best golf sunglasses come with lenses that block 100 percent of the deadly ultraviolet rays from the sun. Look for glasses that block both UVA and UVB. The higher the nanometer rating, the better.

Depending on the weather conditions you'll want to consider the color of the lenses. Bright sunny days need a darker colored lense, maybe even mirrored or polarized.

Darker cloudy days can still be glary and hard on the eyes, a light grey or an amber lense would be perfect.

Best yet is to find a pair with interchangable lenses. Allowing you the ability to change the lenses as you need.

You'll have more cash in your pocket to purchase balls, equipment, green fees, and, of course, frosty beverages from the drink cart.

At the same time you'll be protecting your eyes and you'll look good doing it, too.

Give Gifts of Fashion with Belts and Belt Buckles

By : Charles Kassotis
For anyone who has ever had a person in their life that was hard to shop for, the right fashion accessory could be just the thing you are looking for. The right belt or belt buckle can put just the right touch on any outfit.

Belts and buckles can be great for any gift giving occasion. Whether it is a holiday, birthday, special event, or even a funny gag gift, this could be the right accessory. Many people dislike getting clothes that they weren't able to try on. However, all you have to have is a general size for belts. They all fit basically the same from there. However, you do need to know the general size of the person for it to be practical.

When you are giving someone a belt or buckle, you should stop to consider their personality and style of dress. There are styles and sizes to go with every person and their outfits. Whether they dress in a country western, hip hop, trendy, or a style that is all their own, there is something for them. However, if you don't know the person very well, stick with something less extravagant that would look good with anything.

Some specialty shops will help you to personalize your gift if that is your wish. You can get belts with a special and unique design, words, or names on them. Of course, to personalize a belt you should really know what a person is like. If you personalize a belt to your own style, you will likely miss the mark with their sense of fashion. Remember that everyone's taste is different and unique. Taylor to them, not to you.

You can also order specialized buckles from many places. These offer a variety of unique options. You can choose different metals to make the buckles from, including silver and gold. You can choose different shapes, styles, sizes, and themes. You can also add jewels to really draw attention.

While the large, sparkling, attention drawing buckles appeal to many people, others are turned off by them. Make sure the person you are shopping for dresses for them if you are going to buy something that draws that much attention.

Many people dress with the same basic theme from day to day. Some people stick with a country and western style, gothic style, golf style, etc. Whatever the theme, there are belts are belt buckles for every style and every person.

Before you order a belt for someone, make sure that you have their size right. If you guess wrong, you are likely to offend someone. If you guess too low, they may feel fat when they try to put it on. Or they may think that you are trying to give them a hint - even though you aren't. And if you guess too big, they may think that you think they are fat. If you don't know the size, don't guess. Stick with the buckle and a gift certificate for them to pick their own belt.

Diamond Rings are Symbolic Gifts For Graduation, Wedding, and Engagement

By : David Arnold Livingston
Rings, as jewelry, will never go out of style. Sometimes they don't just serve the purpose of embellishing nimble fingers but also as symbols of relationships and events of great values such as an engagement, wedding, anniversary, graduation etc. Diamonds are very popular stones in all of them. Here are the various kinds of rings:

1. Graduation or Class Ring

These rings are customized or designed for a particular class of students. They could either have the school's logo engraved and/or have the name or initials of the student who owns the ring engraved on the inner side of the ring.

2. Friendship Ring

These symbols of bonds could be in any kind of personalized design the wearers prefer. A group of friends could have these rings with the same design or in complementing designs.

3. Engagement Ring

The celebration of the decision that a couple will spend the rest of their lives together is often sealed with this piece of jewelry. Women usually enjoy the privilege of being given an engagement ring. An engagement ring is more appreciated when a man is just so in tune of his fiancée's character that he is able to give one that complements her personality so well. She may also want to be involved in the selection of the ring. Oftentimes, the couple will decide to buy the rings, as a set at the same time of becoming engaged. Engagement rings with diamonds often earn two thumbs up.

4. Wedding or Anniversary Ring/Band

Classic wedding rings usually comprise of diamond rings. However, platinum wedding bands are fast gaining popularity. This is because compared to gold, platinum is said to be a lot denser, thus more durable. Platinum wedding rings are known to be more able to last a lifetime, which is the very perfect symbol of marriage.

Now after that rundown of the different types of rings and their symbolic meanings, how about knowing more about the ring that often gets the most attention - the diamond ring?

Known as woman's best friend, it is imperative that one knows the basics of a diamond. Here are the 4 basic C's of a diamond:

1. Clarity

This is the clearness or the purity or imperfection of the diamond. The more clarity the more costly the diamond ring gets.

2. Color

This refers to the amount of color in the diamond. Black diamond is known to be more expensive than clear diamonds.

3. Cut

This refers to the proportion and polish of the diamond. It also determines the shape of the diamond. The more intricate or ornate the diamond the more attractive and, of course, the costlier the diamond gets.

4. Carat

This is the unit of measurement of a diamond. 1 carat is equal to .20 grams. The higher the carat of a diamond is the heftier its price tags becomes.

Although diamonds are known to last forever as having the reputation of being the hardest mineral, they still require proper care to be able to live up to that expectation.

a. Clean your diamond ring regularly with a soft cloth or a soft brush and jewelry cleaner particularly for a diamond ring.

b. After cleaning, rinse it thoroughly in warm water and wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth.

c. When doing rough work, common sense should tell you not to wear your ring or any kind of jewelry for that matter. Sweat and dirt may damage the metal setting of your ring.

d. Have your diamond ring checked by a jeweler for possible wear and tear.

With that indispensable information, wearing a ring could mean more than just accessorizing your hands.

Shopping For Sunglasses For Running At Discount Stores

By : Mike Herman
If you are in need of a sleek pair of shades to wear while jogging or completing any activity that involves running, you may experience sticker shock once you begin your search!

These specially designed shades are often outrageously pricey since they are specifically made for individuals to wear while jogging.

Instead of shelling out big bucks at fancy sporting goods stores, consider shopping for sunglasses for running at discount stores.

Quite often, your local discount store stocks a great variety of sporting shades for a variety of uses, including jogging glasses.

The selection of sunglasses for running at discount stores will not be as great as your sporting goods store, but the prices will more than make up for the lack of styles!

Mant stores, especially stores online, have an several pairs of shades made for specific sports that are a great deal less expensive than comparable glasses at specialty stores.

In addition to saving money by shopping for sunglasses for running at discount stores, you will have less to lose in the event your glasses are broken or lost.

When searching for shades, be sure you find a pair that fits your face.

You may need to sacrifice a bit of cash and purchase a pair of glasses that you can wear comfortably to ensure you will indeed wear your purchase and protect your eyes from harmful Ultra Violet rays from the sun.

Also, consider investing a bit more in a pair of shades that are polarized, which will further protect your peepers from potentially harmful rays and allow you to continue your activity of choice even in the most blinding conditions, including bright sunlight and reflections off surfaces like pavement or snow.

Jewelry Shopping for Gifts, Hobbies, Symbolism and Health

By : David Arnold Livingston
How else could humans accessorize themselves aside from wearing clothes and shoes? Also through jewelry, right? However, did you know that jewelry is not only used as accessories? Here are the other reasons as to why many don't bother splurging some good dough over these often small yet grand in value items:

- as a sign of wealth and authority (crowns and tiaras)
- as a hobby (as with collectible antique jewelry)
- for symbolic purposes (crucifix, wedding bands, and mourning jewelry)
- for health reasons (as with medical alert jewelry)
- for amusement (as with puzzle jewelry)

Aside from the generic bracelets, earrings, necklaces, bangles and rings, jewels are now also in the forms of tiaras, anklets, studded belts, cufflinks, belly chains, armlets, thigh bands, toe rings and brooches. Surely, there's one kind of jewelry that will enthrall each and every gender and genre.

Jewelry may be made of any kind of material, from precious to semi-precious gems to metals and less valuable materials such as those used for costume jewelry. Here are the most commonly used materials in making jewelry:

1. Organic material - such as shells, pearls and other similar objects

2. Gemstones - these include rhinestones, diamonds, rubies, and other precious and semi-precious stones.

3. Metals - a wide array of metals are used in jewelry. Here are those that are widely-used:

a. gold or gold plated - a metal or alloy that is one of the most commonly used b. sterling silver - often used as body jewelry and is very popular among teenagers c. platinum - often used in wedding bands, more rare and expensive than gold d. titanium - stronger and yet light, those who are sensitive to other metals prefer this e. niobium - also for those with metal sensitivity f. Lucite and Plexiglas - usually used for earrings

4. Wood - ethnic-designed jewelry and bangles

5. Plastic, pounded copper and brass are also used in making jewelry and are fast gaining popularity.

Whether your jewelry is a valuable one or simply something that you got from the flea market, surely it won't hurt to take care of it properly for it to last and probably still be in good condition to be given as an heirloom. Jewelry is not only precious because of the material they are made of. Oftentimes, it is the sentimental value that makes these items more than just accessories. If you are considering giving more value to your jewelry, here are some tips on how to take care of your jewelry, particularly a metal jewelry:

1. Don't use it every so often. Using it only during special occasions makes your jewelry earns more attention because of its novelty.

2. Don't wear it when you are taking a bath, washing the dishes or whenever you have to submerge it to the water such as when you are swimming. Components of water and soap may diminish the sheen of your metal jewelry.

3. Clean it regularly with a soft cloth and jewelry cleaner.

4. When engaging into activities that would make you sweat, don't wear your metal jewelry. Perspiration may make it lose its shine.

5. Have a jewelry box. This way, you not only secure the safety of your jewelry from thieves but also from other harsh elements that may tarnish it.

With those jewelry information in mind, your jewelry may just gain more value.

Oprah Features Apple Bottom Jeans On Her Favorites Show

By : Yo Fujikawa
Every year, Oprah hosts a holiday segment called Oprah\'s Favorite Things on her famous talk show and if you, like hundreds of thousands of Americans out there, have some trouble figuring out what the best gifts for your family are, these recommendations are great! In the past, Oprah has recommended key lime pie, Apple iPods, the Neiman Marcus cookbook and a lot more, but one of her most popular suggestions has been Apple Bottoms jeans. Apple Bottoms jeans were quite popular before the recommendation, but afterwards, their success went through the roof. What made these jeans so successful in a market that is clogged with design clothing?

Apple Bottoms jeans are designed by the hip-hop artist Nelly, and they have a unique appeal and very glamorous aesthetic. Nelly himself is personally involved in the design process and has been quoted as saying, \"The clothes should fit a woman, not the woman fit the clothes,\" a sentiment which has become the best way to judge the clothes that are produced. The intension of the brand was to make sure that they enhance rather than conceal the natural beauty of the women who wear them, a viewpoint that has been a great relief for many women who are tired of shopping for clothes that don\'t fit quite right.

One of things that distinguish Apple Bottoms jeans is rather than being straight-legged or cut in a way to minimize the hips, Apple Bottom jeans are frequently clingy without being tight, something that many women, whether they are on their way to a club or to visit family, can appreciate. Moreover, they are made to be exceptionally sturdy, so if you give a loved one the jeans as a gift, you can ensure that they\'ll be able to enjoy it for a good long time.

They are also quite versatile, and can be suitable for a dressy occasion or for just hanging around the house. All About Sunglasses

By : Chris Simpson
Any time of year, sunglasses should be a part of your daily heath-consciousness routine. Sunglasses are not just for summers on the beach anymore or just for looking cool and mysterious. Designer sunglasses are no longer just for wealthy movie stars. Sunglasses are crucial in protecting your eyes from the permanent damaging effects of Ultra Violet radiation.

Sunglasses in some form have been around for a very long time. Roman Emperor Nero made sunglasses by watching gladiator competitions through polished light emerald green gems held up to his eyes. The true invention of sunglasses was somewhere between 1268 and 1289.

Before 1430, smoky quartz, flat-paned sunglasses were worn by Judges in the Courts of China to conceal any expression in their eyes. Prescription sunglasses were developed in Italy in 1430 and were later used by the Chinese Judges. In the mid 18th Century, James Ayscough developed blue and green corrective lenses, beginning the use of sunglasses for correcting optical impairments.

Until 1730 when Edward Scarlett invented hardened sidepieces, there were problems in keeping eyeglasses propped on the nose. Glasses frames had been made from leather, bones and metal and sidepieces began as silk strips of ribbon that looped around the ears. Instead of loops, the Chinese added ceramic weights to the ends of the ribbons. Benjamen Franklin's invention of bifocal lenses followed in 1780.

By the 20th Century, sunglasses were used to protect the eyes from the sun. In 1929 Sam Foster's "Foster Grants" were the first mass-produced sunglasses and they began the trend of sunglasses for fashion.

In the 1930's the Army Air Corps asked Bausch & Lomb to develop sunglasses that would efficiently reduce high-altitude sun glare for pilots and they came up with dark green tinted sunglasses that absorbed light through the yellow spectrum.

Edward H. Land had invented the Polaroid filter and by 1936 he used it in making sunglasses and soon, sunglasses became "cool." Movies stars began wearing sunglasses to hide behind and for fashion. Aviator glasses became popular with the movie stars and the general public in 1937 after Ray Ban developed the anti-glare sunglasses using polarization. The longer lens was created to give more protection to pilots' eyes from light reflecting off their control panels.

By the 1970's Hollywood stars and fashion designers made a huge impact on the sunglasses market. Clothing designers and stars put their names on glasses and sunglasses and everyone had to have them. In 2007, stars are still hiding behind their oversized designer sunglasses, making fashion statements and protecting their eyes from the harmful effects of the Ultra Violet radiation.
Today's trendy designer sunglasses are a status symbol; however, in order to be fashionable in sunglasses, you do not have to give up quality. Quality designer sunglasses can be polarized to reduce the glare of sunlight reflecting off surfaces like the highway, cars, water or snow. Polarized sunglasses work by blocking off horizontal light reflections and only let in vertical light reflections. The polarization of designer sunglasses makes them fashionable in other areas of lifestyle like golfing, boating, biking, swimming, fishing and aircraft flying.

Marketers of designer sunglasses target children who choose the same hot styles and brand-names as their parents and their idols. Sunglasses for children have Disney and cartoon characters in many colors, shapes and styles. Children's designer sunglasses can also be polarized to block the harmful UV radiation.

With modern technology and improvements, the making of sunglasses continues to evolve. We have gone from holding green gems up to our eyes to Oakley's 2004 sunglasses with digital audio players built in.

Plus Size Fashion Freedom!

Just ten years ago plus size women were limited to clothes shopping in the two back corner racks of the local department store. We didn't have a lot of selection in style and fit and really--we didn't enjoy shopping for ourselves all that much. It's hard feeling good about a wardrobe full of cartoon character t-shirts and too short stretchy pants, and it was disappointing to shop for more of the same.

Our choices in fashion were basic polyester stretch pants (remember those thick elastic waistbands ladies?), plain oversize t-shirts, and flowing, flowery polyester house dresses. Anything that was somewhat nice was stocked in limited quantities and at an exorbitant price.

Ladies we felt & looked frumpy and dowdy because that's all we had to wear!

Today however, full figured women can now enjoy trendy and comfortable fashions--at prices most can afford. And with easy online access, we are no longer limited to what the local department stores choose for us. We can choose from denims, cottons, silks & satins. Flower prints, stripes, solids and polka dots. Well fitted career wear, two piece bathing suits, short pants, long pants--the sky is the limit and we have more choices than ever before.

Want to wear a fun, flirty skirt? Or a trendy tanktini on that fabulous beach holiday? No problem! It's just a click away online. Your biggest dilemma will be choosing just one item out of the three or four that have caught your eye. What a shift from ten years ago!

Today taller plus size women can finally find those pants that fit both width AND length. And then there's petite plus size fashions for women who are shorter than average. We've got fashion selections now that fit all heights of fuller figured women--short, medium and tall.

With online shopping, plus size fashion freedom has finally arrived for full figured women. Choose all the figure flattering and trendy styles you want and say goodbye forever to frumpy and dowdy. It's time for us to shine like the beautiful women we truly are.

If you're looking for plenty of options when shopping for plus size clothing, visit http://www.plussizegoodies.com for my top picks for online shopping stores for plus size fashions. Plus Size Clothes Shopping Tools

Today shopping for trendy plus size clothing that fits well and looks great is easier than ever before. Clothing designers and merchants have finally discovered the huge market full figured women have to offer. We want stylish and comfortable clothing - and we are willing to pay for it.

Fabric choices, slimming cuts & shimmering glamor are available to us in abundance, but how to choose the best fit and most flattering size when shopping online? Trying clothes on before we buy is not an option.

But the good news is that as online shoppers, we have two very handy tools at our disposal:

Sizing Charts & Refund Policies

You will find plenty of websites online specializing in ladies plus size fashions. Before adding anything to your shopping cart (also called shopping bag or basket), check out the sizing chart on site. You will usually find this linked to in the same spot where you choose the size, quantity and color of the item to add to your shopping cart. If it is not there, look in the main menu navigation bar.

You will find that most stores offer sizing that is true to offline department store sizing. So if you are normally a size 2X, you should find that size fits the same when shopping online.

You will also want to know what the store Refund Policy is. The industry standard is between 30 and 60 days from time of shipment. You will see the date listed on the packing slip when your package arrives. With a generous Refund Policy, you are free to order 2 or 3 different sizes of the item you want! Try them on, keep the item that you are most happy with and return the other items for a refund.

What you will want to watch for is any shipping and handling charges. Most times the stores offer a full refund, but it is good to note any charges that may apply if you do opt for a refund. Sometimes it is still worth it if you find that perfect dress you just cannot get locally.

Because most of us do not have a lot of options when shopping for plus sized clothing at our local department stores, shopping online provides us with a happy alternative. Now we too can enjoy a wide variety and plenty of options for fun, trendy fashions!

Classic Men’s Wallets That Never Go Out Of Style

I know not every man puts much thought into choosing the wallet he uses. After all, it’s just something that carries your cold hard cash. But to me, the wallet is arguably a man’s most essential accessory and the wallet he carries says a lot about him and his personal style.

So regardless of you’re buying a wallet for yourself or as a gift, you should really take your time to pick a good one. It’ll accompany you for many years to come.

Women are clearly spoilt for choice when it comes to handbags and small leather goods. Every season, designers crack their brain to come up the “It” bag that will be the object of every woman’s desire.

As guys, we aren’t that fortunate. We don’t have that many designers clamoring for our attention. But it doesn’t mean we don’t have choices. In fact there are men’s wallets and small leather goods that never go out of style.

I find these timeless classics very appealing because there’s always an interesting story behind its success. They may not come cheap but they’ll certainly elevate your status in the style department.

Meisterstuck by Montblanc

Montblanc turned 100 in 2006 and there are many reasons to celebrate. The success of the legendary Meisterstuck fountain pen launched in 1924 helped Montblanc become the de-facto market leader of fine writing instruments.

Today, Montblanc is more than just a maker of fine writing instruments. The company has launched its leather goods, its fine watches, eyewear, fragrance and even jewelry.

Montblanc’s foray into leather goods started in 1935 when it acquired a producer of leather ware in Germany. Riding on the success of its Meisterstuck fountain pen, Montblanc launched the Meisterstuck leather collection.

Using black calfskin fitted with its signature “star” logo, Montblanc creates a masculine line of fine leather goods that is an instant hit with its predominantly male clientele.

Must de Cartier by Cartier

Well-known for its jewelry and fine watches, Cartier is one of the top luxury brands in the world and its products are associated with very, very high price tags.

1974 was the year Cartier made a comeback in the world of leather goods with the Must de Cartier line. The color burgundy, with a slight raspberry hue, was chosen as a logical continuation to the Cartier red for this must-have collection of fine leather goods. Burgundy soon became the new black.

The influential Bordeaux color, the iconic double ‘C’ logo, and the distinctive gold hardware make the Must de Cartier line a timeless classic.

But to be honest, Must de Cartier is not for the weak-hearted. Not every guy feels comfortable carrying a burgundy wallet with gold adornments.

Monogrammed Canvas by Louis Vuitton

With more than 100 years of history, Louis Vuitton monogrammed canvas must be the classic of all classics. And no matter what Louis Vuitton does to the monogrammed canvas, it still sells like hot cakes.

They splattered the canvas with graffiti. They planted red cherries on the canvas. They painstakingly sewed the motifs on denim. And they got Takeshi Murakami who reinterpreted the motif in brilliant rainbow colors. It seems like you can’t go wrong with the monogrammed canvas.

Unfortunately they don’t have a good selection of men’s wallets in monogrammed canvas so your choices are rather limited.

Pocone Nylon by Prada

It was in 1978 when Miuccia Prada took over the dusty luggage business from her grandfather. Under her helm, Prada became a luxury powerhouse with far-reaching influence in the world of fashion.

The world took notice when Prada made a handbag out of black waterproof Pocone nylon. Fitted with its distinctive triangular logo plate, nylon never looked so good. Miuccia Prada single-handedly made nylon luxurious.

Of course, I’m not expecting you to carry the popular nylon handbag. Prada does make nice nylon wallets trimmed with cowhide for men. Although it’s now available in many different colors, black is always a classic.

Woven Leather by Bottega Veneta

Once a second-tier brand in the Gucci Group’s stable, Bottega Veneta has become the group’s rising star. With its ultra-exclusive and elitist appeal, Bottega Veneta is poised to become the next Hermes.

Recreating the brand’s popular woven bags from the 1970s, Bottega Veneta beats the trend of logomania with its handcrafted leather goods made from the finest napa leather.

And consistent with the brand’s slogan “When your own initials are enough”, you won’t be able to see any logo on the leather goods. But the beautifully woven leather, which ages very well with use, should be enough to announce that you’re carrying a Bottega.

Line D by S.T. Dupont

S.T. Dupont is so well known for its lighters that it’s easy for us to forget that Simon Tissot-Dupont founded the company in 1847 making leather briefcases for diplomats and businessmen.

The classic Line D collection of fine leather goods was launched in 1985 and featured the Dupont “D” logo in gold on black calfskin. In recent years, they also offer Line D fitted with the trendier palladium hardware. But whether it’s in gold or palladium, Line D still looks as timeless as ever.

Burberry Check by Burberry

When we think of Burberry, we invariably think of the red, camel, black and white check that has become synonymous with the brand. It’s hard to imagine that the Burberry Check actually has a humble beginning. It was introduced in 1920 as a lining to the iconic Burberry trench coat.

Burberry is enjoying a revival in recent years - all thanks to its creative director Christopher Bailey’s modern interpretation of the classic check, CEO Rose Marie Bravo’s dynamism, and Kate Moss’ star power. You just can’t go wrong with such rich Brit heritage.

Spring Is Here; Buy Your Man Crocs Shoes!

You think Crocs Shoes are just for women? Don't let the bright colors fool you.

I buy my man Crocs shoes every spring. Why? Because I was tired of his stinky smelly feet after spending his days at work. Crocs has men’s flip flops and clogs that will keep his feet cool and help prevent that horrible odor that comes with the heat of spring and summer.

My man works hard as a medical technician at the local hospital. He is on his feet all day and most men’s shoes just do not offer him enough support and comfort to make it home without being in pain at the end of every day. But I am tired of smelling that horrible stench every time he takes his shoes off.

So I decided to start searching for an answer to my own question. I started looking for shoes that would be comfortable for him and still keep his feet cool and ventilated. Not long after starting my search for men’s shoes I found the Crocs brand. Crocs look so cute that I thought there was no possible way a clog like that could actually be comfortable. So I bought myself a pair to test before buying my man his.

My feet felt like they were on little cushions. I could not believe that a shoe this light and stylish could actually be functional as well. The foot bed actually formed to fit my foot. The more I walked in the shoes the more comfortable they became. I saw that Crocs had a sandal and flip-flops available so I bought them for myself right away.

Before actually buying a pair of clogs for my man, I wanted to have some
specific information on the shoe and what it was made out of. I found out that the Cayman model, one of the most popular, weighs only 6 ounces. Crocs makes them from a closed-cell resin, which will not get hot or uncomfortable in the heat. Some models of Crocs have ventilation holes to keep the air circulating around the foot. The circulating air is what will keep his feet from smelling. So I went online and purchased a pair of Crocs Cayman shoes for my man.

I’m not going to lie. His first reaction was a little bit of shock. He had never seen anything like them before and was very reluctant to wear them. But after some coaxing he agreed to wear them for one day. When he returned home from work he was smiling and asked if I wanted to go to a movie. I could not believe it! He didn’t head straight to his chair and put his feet up. He thanked me over and over for buying him his first clog shoes.

Now that spring is coming we are buying him some Crocs flip-flops to wear around the house. Crocs has incorporated their relaxed design into a sandal that is unbelievably comfortable. Men’s shoes are no longer boring and stinky. Now men can wear stylish sandals to relax or comfortable clogs at work and their feet will never stink again!

A Career In Fashion Modeling

By : Tony Jacowski
While surfing through TV channels, you probably have come across a model in an ad or a fashion channel with a svelte and appealing figure, and a great deal of poise. And, for the umpteenth time you may have wished that you could be one. It's not just the attention that makes an individual want to be a model, but also the money involved.

Modeling is not confined to traveling to exotic locations, being pampered, attending celebrity parties and earning thousand dollars a day. Although most people like to be in the limelight, rub shoulders with the fashion circuit's who's who, and indulge in the best cuisines of the world, modeling is much more than that.

Requirements

If you plan to take up modeling as a career, you need to acquire demanding physical attributes. You need to first rate yourself. Gauge your weaknesses and your strengths. Not everyone is perfect, but you can work on your flaws and improve on your plus points. For example, your height should be at least 5 feet 8 inches or more, and your body weight should be in proportion to it.

Fashion models are notorious for their unusual diets and exercise regimes that they need to undergo to maintain the exacting body proportions required by the profession. The skin should be healthy and without any, or very little, blemishes. Your hair should be in good shape without any kind damage or dehydration in evidence. Even your teeth should be straight and white, and not crooked or flawed in any manner. A million dollar smile would do half your job.

Models lead a fun filled and exciting life. They have lavish lifestyles, and hop from one lovely locale to another. However, aside from all the fun, modeling demands dedication, commitment and genuine interest. The work timings can be erratic, and models are required to balance their work schedules, as well as their personal health. Models especially require ample sleep, good and nutritious food, and exercise to keep fit. Their profession demands that they maintain their health and complexion, and adhere to a good regime of personal grooming.

Modeling

Once you enter the modeling arena, the next step is to get noticed by a modeling agency. Don't forget that the agency needs you just as much as you need them. They are always on the look out for fresh faces, and if you are at the right place at the right time, you can land yourself a lucrative modeling assignment. Don't expect assignments to just walk up to you. You need to make an effort to search for them, and give people a push. You will have to send out your portfolios to modeling agencies that recruit models.

It is important to make your portfolio simple yet effective, however you don't have to spend a lot of money to create an expensive portfolio. Usually, agencies have open castings where newcomers have a chance of being selected. Experience in the related field, whether in print, ramp or television ads, is an added advantage.

Movie and film extras agencies also hire models for their movies. You can also work as a live model at a local departmental store, or even make a public appearance at a local event. This adds up to your experience and helps you to familiarize yourself with the requirements of the profession.

Entering The Fashion Circle

After being hired by one of the agencies, you may have to shift base to another city, or always be on the move. This would also mean living away from your family or traveling a lot. Since initially it may take a while to get a major break in the profession, you need to be patient and determined, until you succeed. Attend all casting calls and shoots. Although established models are known to keep people waiting, but you being a rookie cannot afford such antics. With dedication and perseverance, you are sure to succeed.
